OpenCms S5 Module Released

Create Presentations in OpenCms

Author: M Butcher
Date: 2008-05-22 17:33:43 -0400

Introducing the OpenCms S5 module, a package for building slide show presentations within OpenCms and then displaying them through a web browser.

Download Version 1.1

It has only been tested on OpenCms 7.04, though it may work with versions as old as 6.0.

This module takes Eric Meyer's S5 simple standards-aware slide show system and re-tools it to fit into the OpenCms architecture. A master template and supporting CSS and Javascript files take care of the layout.

All you need to do is create a new Presentation document and begin adding slides. The XML content type definition handles all of the details. You just write the title and body of each slide.

Plain content can also be turned into an S5 show by simply adding some ID and class attributes to existing HTML.

This release, 1.1, has not been broadly tested. I used an earlier version (0.4) for my presentation in Cologne. This version should be much sturdier than that one, though. Send any bug reports to mbutcher at this domain.
